Scholarship Opportunity for NFP Moms:
Full scholarship awarded to a NFP client for an associate degree program at Lackawanna College
Starting in 2018, Lackawanna College began providing full-tuition scholarships for clients from MFHS who are enrolled in the Nurse-Family Partnership program in an effort to continue to provide affordable, high quality educational opportunities to the residents of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Eligibility:
- Applicant must be enrolled in Maternal and Family Health Services (MFHS) Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) Program and must have demonstrated a commitment to the NFP program model and curriculum. Applicant is expected to maintain enrollment in the MFHS NFP Program until the NFP program’s completion at the child’s 2nd birthday.
- Prior to being selected for the scholarship, applicant must successfully complete the admission process for Lackawanna College, and fulfill the requirements of the Lackawanna College Admissions Office for their field of study or program.
- If selected, the applicant must complete FAFSA prior to enrollment.
- In order the maintain the scholarship, the student must:
- complete the associate degree program in 4 consecutive fall/spring semesters
- uphold a cumulative 2.0 GPA
- maintain full-time continual enrollment
- complete the FAFSA for the next academic year by May 1.
- Applicant must submit a 250 to 400 word essay that includes your future goals and vision for you and your child and how you will use your education and the skills learned through NFP to achieve your goals and build a brighter future for you and your child.
Applications will be forwarded to Lackawanna College Admissions Office to verify successful completion of admissions requirements, and verify eligibility for scholarship award.
