Susquehanna, Pa – Maternal and Family Health Services (MFHS) opened a new Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Center in Susquehanna on September 6, 2022.

This new WIC location, co-located with the Barnes Kasson Health Center, will improve access to WIC nutrition services for families in northeastern Susquehanna County, and add to the WIC services currently available in Susquehanna County at the Montrose WIC Center operated by NEPA Community Health Care.

WIC is the nation’s premier public health and nutrition education program with an overall goal to influence lifetime nutrition through positive health behaviors. WIC participants receive nutrition education, eWIC benefits to purchase nutritious foods, breastfeeding support, farmers’ market vouchers, and referrals for other health and social services. WIC nutrition services are free and available for pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum women, and infants and children under age 5 who have nutritional need and meet income eligibility guidelines.
