Maternal & Family Health Services Awarded $115,000 Highmark Foundation Grant
Maternal and Family Health Services announces they are a recipient of a $115,000 grant from the Highmark Foundation. The grant funds a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the MFHS Circle of Care office on Madison Avenue in Scranton.
MFHS provides services to over 100,000 individuals annually across Northeast Pennsylvania through a network of programs that includes: Reproductive Healthcare, the Women, Infants & Children Nutrition (WIC) program, the HealthyWoman Cancer Screening program, the Nurse-Family Partnership program, and the Healthy Beginnings Plus prenatal program. The Circle of Care office is a unique location that provides access to these programs in one convenient location.
“The addition of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker will help us better serve an increasing number of high-risk clients with additional screenings and counseling,” says Bette Cox Saxton, MFHS President and CEO. “They will help coordinate client care across programs and physicians, as well as provide referrals and resources to help our clients have healthy babies and lead healthy lives.”
