Please join us at The Marketplace at Steamtown to celebrate the opening of our traveling photo exhibit in Lackawanna County!
67 Women, 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania is a traveling photo exhibit hosted by communities across PA. This educational work of art celebrates the life, courage, hope, and dignity of women and families who have battled breast cancer.
This touching tribute showcases at least one woman from each of the state’s 67 counties and serves as a unique reminder of the emotional and physical toll breast cancer takes on each woman and her family. The exhibit encourages women to learn about and practice early detection through yearly mammograms, monthly breast self-exams, and annual clinical exams.
The Lackawanna County exhibit opening will be held on the 1st floor of the Marketplace at Steamtown on Thursday, April 4th at 6:00pm. The event will be hosted by the Delta Medix Breast Care Center. Attendees will hear from local breast cancer survivors, healthcare professionals, and legislators. Light refreshments will be provided.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. It will be on display at The Marketplace at Steamtown from Thursday, April 4th- Sunday, April 14th. (Located on the 2nd floor across from Crunch Fitness).
The Marketplace at Steamtown provides free parking for patrons up to 3 hours with a validated ticket. Ticket validation will be available prior to and during the event.
Community partners include the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, Maternal and Family Health Services, Susan G. Komen for the Cure-Northeastern Pennsylvania Affiliate, and the American Cancer Society.
