Working to meet the health and nutritional needs of women, children and families with information, education, and quality care, MFHS is currently seeking a Retail Store Coordinator based out of Berks County.


The Retail Store Coordinator is responsible for a variety of specialized functions in support of WIC retail stores. This position will require extensive travel to retail stores throughout the southeastern counties approximately 60%-70% of the work week.  The remainder of hours during the week can be used for follow-up reporting and other tasks and may be done remotely working from home if preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Process onsite inspections, reviews, and certifications of WIC retail stores according to required timelines, including initial and reauthorization inspections, monitoring reviews, Level 3 certifications, and follow-up inspections.
  • Provide training to WIC retail stores, including new store training, and annual required training to all retail stores in group settings.  Assure that WIC authorized stores are trained in the WIC Program regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to retail stores regarding WIC rules and regulations, answer questions from retail stores, handle complaints concerning retail stores with a goal of resolving issues and working in collaboration with retail partners to promote a positive experience for WIC participants and grocers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely WIC retail records and documentation in coordination with WIC Retail Manager, and PA Bureau of WIC.


  • Prepare process and maintain reports, order forms and administrative correspondence.
  • Perform other duties necessary to support the provision of services.

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Associates Degree preferred but not required.
  • 1-3 years experience preferred


  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills for public speaking, group presentations, etc.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Ability to articulate clearly.
  • Basic writing skills using English words and phrases to complete documents.


  • Ability to perform operations with units involved in measuring and weighing.
  • Basic math skills such as adding, subtraction, division and reducing fractions.
  • Deductive reasoning – ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Inductive reasoning – ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to specific rules or set of rules.


  • Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Drivers License & Insured Automobile (work related travel is expected)


  • Ability to create documents and reports in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Fundamentals of basic software and database programs to input and/or extract information.
  • Ability to type 40+ wpm

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT (other than basic office equipment)

  • eWIC card readers


  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of customer service and client-centered service delivery.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability and willingness to complete required on-the-job training such as:
  • MFHS and WIC required trainings
  • Retail Store Coordinator Trainings
