Last fall, our friends in the Northwest Area School District joined forces with MFHS to help raise money to fight breast cancer. The cheer leading squad from Northwest did an incredible job of creating awareness in the school district and in raising money to help support programs like our HealthyWoman cancer screening program, so we wanted to take a moment to thank them and share some pictures of all their hard work.
The cheer leading squad ran several events throughout the month of October in order to support breast cancer awareness. They sold Avon at their school, with part of the proceeds going back to Maternal & Family Health Services.
At the games, the cheerleaders would cover themselves in pink, and even the boys on the football team got involved with pink socks! The girls also sold grocery store style support pin ups at their football games, and covered the bleachers with messages of support from friends and family. Finally, they did 50/50 raffles at all of the games during that month as well.  In total, the Northwest Area cheerleaders raised $1,400 to help benefit MFHS programming.
We wanted to extend a huge thank you to the cheerleaders, their coaches, the school district, and all of their family, friends and the students that came out to support MFHS. Your fund raising will make a difference in the lives of women throughout our service area. Thank you for “Passing the Power of PINK!”
