Maternal and Family Health Services is proud to announce that at the 2014 MFHS Annual Meeting, the Honorable Phyllis Mundy will be receiving the MFHS Lifetime Achievement Award for her years of service and dedication to the people of Northeast Pennsylvania. Representative Mundy is a champion for MFHS programs that help women, children and families lead healthier lives.
We are especially grateful for her leadership and tireless support of the Nurse-Family Partnership Program. Representative Mundy has gone on home visits with our NFP nurses and met the women and children who benefit from our programs. She has recognized this well-tested prevention program for its ability to stop the cycle of dependency by helping at-risk mothers develop strengths and skills for a lifetime of health and economic stability.
Representative Mundy never stops fighting for programs that are proven to work and make a real difference by meeting critical needs and promoting a healthier future. Over her 20 years of service in the Pennsylvania General Assembly, Phyllis Mundy has used her influence to benefit those in need and has remained true to who she is and what she believes, in spite of political pressure. Thank you, Representative Mundy, for all you have done to support MFHS and our mission throughout your years in office and we wish you the very best in your retirement.
