Announcing MFHS’s New Location in Hawley to Serve Wayne and Pike Counties

Maternal and Family Health Services will open a new and improved location with a new name to serve Wayne and Pike counties starting August 8, 2011.  The new MFHS Circle of Care is located at 8 Silk Mill Drive, Suite 226, in Hawley, (the Castle on Route 6) to serve Wayne and Pike counties with the following:

The MFHS Honesdale and Milford locations for the above programs will close as of July 29, 2011.

“This consolidation of two separate health centers in Honesdale and Milford into one location in Hawley is necessary due to budget constraints,” said Bette Cox Saxton, MFHS President & CEO.  “Maternal and Family Health Services offers health and nutrition programs in 16 Pennsylvania counties.  In some counties, MFHS directly operates the health centers.  In other counties, we contract with local providers to offer the programs.  This allows for the most efficient use of public funds to meet the need.”

In Pike County, MFHS is contracting with Wayne Memorial Health System to provide the family planning program at Pike County Family Health Center, Women’s Health, in Lord’s Valley.  In addition, MFHS will operate a limited service WIC Nutrition Center in Dingmans Ferry.  The new MFHS Circle of Care in Hawley will be fully staffed with extended hours of operation to offer convenient appointment times for patients and clients.  The same caring staff MFHS clients have come to know will transfer to the new MFHS Circle of Care in Hawley to provide the high quality and confidential care clients have come to expect from MFHS.

MFHS patients and clients, and the community partners who refer to MFHS programs, have been notified of the service location change.

Maternal and Family Health Services has a 40 year history of serving women, children and families in Northeast Pennsylvania with high quality, confidential and essential reproductive health and nutrition care.
